Tech Giants In Africa See Huge Value In AI According to Studies

Business leaders and tech giants in Africa are seeing major value in artificial intelligence (AI) and are making bets on the potential of AI and cloud computing to accelerate advancement and give their businesses a competitive edge according to BMI Institute for Business Value study.

According to the studies, it shows that ground-breaking AI is rapidly emerging as a key priority for these tech giants. The study, titled “CEO decision-making in the age of AI, Act with intention,” shows the mind of Africa’s big CEOs who see AI as a game-changer that can put their businesses to the next level and position on the global stage.

According to reports, Africa’s chief executives took the survey for IBM’s 2022 Global CEO Study, which revealed that 50% believe innovative technologies such as AI, machine learning, and deep learning will deliver tangible results over the next three years. Cloud computing topped the list at 58%, while 51% cited automation as the most impactful.

“The Fourth Industrial Revolution has presented Africa with an opportunity to leapfrog various stages of economic development,” explained IBM executive Julia Carvalho. “Consequently, African organisations are leveraging AI and emerging innovation models to accelerate innovation, enhance customer experiences, productivity and profitability, and environmental sustainability.”

CEOs across Africa recognise the advantage of advanced technologies’ major potential to drive strategic goals and help with sustaining their businesses. The study found over half of South African and Egyptian leaders view technology factors as highly influential to their AI implementation roadmaps.
