Eskom Says Transmission Company Will Start to Operate in 2025
In a presentation on Thursday, the State owned power utility Eskom said its transmission company will start operating by the first quarter of the year 2025. In 2019 South Africa’s president Cyril Ramaphosa announced that Eskom would be split into three divisions namely, generation, transmission and distribution, which aims to improve management of the company.

The government energy committee aims to bring 21GW of additional power online between year 2023 and 2026. Wskom said in its presentation that it aims to buy 3.4GW from neighbouring country, according to Reuters.
