Mining companies return most of their profits to shareholders in the form of dividends.

Dividends consist of a basic dividend of R41 per share, which is equivalent to 40% of gross profit, and a “special dividend” of R40, which is equivalent to 40% of total profit, as a bonus dividend. 

Despite a decline in interim headline earrings of 42% to R26.7 billion compared to R46,4 billion in 2021. it’s still the second-highest prices in the history of our metal 

We’ve seen above inflationary increase of about 10% on our cost. We have been able though, through cost curtailment to bring that down to an impact of only 8%. 

We’ve started our wage engagement earlier this year, because in a world that we know that’s filled with uncertainty, we wanted to bring certainty through settling wage negotiations as soon as possible.
