WhatsApp has released a new Windows version with improved speed and calling functionality. The latest version now has multi-device sync, allowing you to use WhatsApp even when your phone is turned off.

Mark Zuckerberg announced the new Windows software on his Instagram channel, stating that it supports end-to-end encrypted group calling.

WhatsApp for Windows has been upgraded to offer video calls with up to 8 persons and voice conversations with up to 32 people. The mobile app also supports group calls with similar restrictions. In the future, the business plans to increase the number of individuals who may participate in a group call. This makes it easier if you want to have a group call on your desktop.

With the announcement of multi-device linking — the ability to utilise one account across several devices — WhatsApp has been focusing on enhancing the big screen experience.

In June, the business released a public beta of a new Mac client with improved performance for Apple Silicone-based computers. The messaging service, which is owned by Meta, is also testing a new version tailored for Android tablets.

WhatsApp also introduced two new group-related features earlier this week. The first will allow admins to search through all group membership requests in the “Pending Participants” area. The second allows you to view shared groups in search results when you search for a name. Formerly, you had to go to a contact’s profile to view common groups.
