Microsoft is integrating its Bing AI chatbot into mobile apps and Skype

According to a blog post, Microsoft is extending its Bing AI chatbot to the Edge and Bing mobile applications, as well as Skype.

Individuals who have access to the tool’s preview may now access it via their Microsoft account on the Edge and Bing mobile applications, and talk with it one-on-one or in a group on Skype.

“Because we know 64% of searches occur on mobile phones, we are releasing all new Bing and Edge mobile apps to serve as your copilot for the web even when you are away from your desktop,” Microsoft said.

Bing mobile users may start a session by tapping the Bing button at the bottom of the app, whereas Edge mobile users can access the chatbot straight from the homepage.

Adding the chatbot to a group conversation in Skype allows users to ask the chatbot questions and receive replies that everyone in the group can view. This might come in handy when organising excursions with friends and family.

“If your family is chatting about the next family reunion, you can simply ask Bing for suggestions on travel destinations, expected weather forecasts and interesting events around your time of travel, and everyone in the chat will get access to the results,” Microsoft said.

On February 8, 2023, Microsoft debuted the chatbot, which it says as “more advanced” than OpenAI’s chatGPT.

Since then, the business has given over a million users access to a chatbot preview.
