About – Tt100 Business Innovation Awards 2021

Johannesburg, South Africa – The road towards the much-anticipated tt100 Business Innovation Awards programme, sponsored by amongst others, The Department of Science and Innovation, is underway, with the search to find organisations and individuals that have excelled in the management of technology, innovation, people, and systems.

Celebrating its 30^th year of existence in 2021, the tt100 awards programme has evolved into one of the foremost business awards programmes in Africa and it has become a creator of new, groundbreakingly fresh and much-required imperatives. Such imperatives include adding value to all participants through education and coaching programmes, the creation of extensive business networking opportunities, and a variety of research and knowledge dissemination activities.

“The tt100 business awards programme seeks to highlight the role which innovation and technology play in driving wealth creation and in addressing social concerns and specifically encourage the emergence of innovative small enterprises as the engine-room for employment creation and growth in the economy” says Professor Benjamin Anderson, tt100 Director and Executive Chairperson of the Da Vinci Institute for Technology Management, which is one of the sponsors. 

tt100 recognises the capability of organisations to manage technology, innovation, and people in a systemic manner. It endeavours to develop the capacity of organisations to be agile, aligned and engaged to current realities. The awards programme aims to promote emerging innovative black-owned organisations by identifying such enterprises and highlighting their achievements; and raising awareness of the importance of remarkability, research and development and intellectual property ownership as the basis for a sustainable workplace.

“tt100 seeks to promote a broad understanding of TIPS (Technology, Innovation, People & Systems) as an alternative management paradigm underpinning all organisations. A corollary to this is to spotlight innovation as the lead character of South Africa’s tt100 organisations and to highlight these organisations as role models which could potentially inspire other South Africans to emulate their achievements,” explains Professor Anderson.  

The tt100 Business Innovation Awards Programme’s entrants are drawn from diverse industries including emerging, new, and established companies; small, medium, and large companies, and listed and unlisted companies.

This year’s celebratory event is to taking place on the following dates: 

• On 18 November 2021, at The Da Vinci Institute in Modderfontein (Gauteng Province)

• On 23 November 2021, at Gqumeni Primary School in Pietermaritzburg (KwaZulu-Natal)
• On 29 November 2021, at Nyukani Education Centre in Giyani (Limpopo)
