Eskom has announced a weekend load-shedding relief- here is the schedule
Eskom has stated that load-shedding would be rotated between stages 1 and 2 throughout the weekend, with an 11-hour break on Sunday.
The present stage 2 load-shedding is scheduled to last until 05:00 on Saturday, when Eskom will lower it to stage 1.
This will remain until 16:00 on Saturday, when stage 2 load-shedding will begin.
The power will then be turned off from 05:00 on Sunday morning until 16:00.
Stage 1 load-shedding will be in effect for 24 hours, beginning at 16:00 on Sunday and ending at 16:00 on Monday, after which power outages will revert to stage 2.
Eskom reported 14,489MW of generating capacity down due to breakdowns and 6,190MW out of service for scheduled maintenance as of Friday at 15:00.
Three producing units at the Hendrina, Majuba, and Tutuka power plants were returned to operation in the last 24 hours.
During the same time period, a producing unit at each of the Arnot, Camden, Kriel, and Tutuka power plants was shut down for maintenance.
Eskom said it was still experiencing problems in restoring electricity to the Duvha and Medupi power plants.
